The Open Air Museum
Hakone, Japan
May 15th, 2001

We went to a really cool place in Hakone called the Open Air Museum. There are about 700 sculptures all over a beautiful hillside. You walk on a trail that had bridges and a garden that was really a big star shaped maze. Some of the artwork is displayed inside of buildings but most of the museum is outdoors. You could even climb in and play on a few of the sculptures.
The Castle of Nets was our favorite piece of art.

This is the bottom half of the Castle of Nets.

We saw some paintings, drawings and pottery by Pablo Picasso.
This clear sculpture was fun too.
